3-day surfing festival in Mangaluru
· The Tourism Department of the State, in association with private
players, will be hosting the Karnataka Surfing Festival - Indian Open of
Surfing - 2017 on May 26-28 at Sasihithlu beach near Mangaluru.

The three-day event is India’s biggest surfing festival.
·
The festival aims to promote beaches in the State as a premier
adventure destination in the country. They are suitable for various water-based
activities, such as surfing and stand-up paddling. It also aims to make surfing
a major sport in Karnataka, considering the pristine and unexplored beaches.

The festival is in sync with the Tourism Department’s theme of
‘Year of the Wild’, which targets tourists who are keen on exploring the
wilderness.
